The accuracy of motion trajectory, clamping force and stress of the end-effector are analyzed. This project uses a modified Scott Russell straight-line mechanism for each jaw of the end-effector. The desired clamping force is 625 N per jaw when the gripper is at its maximum open position and a maximum lift mass is 70 Kg. The selected size and shape of the grasped object are cylinders ranging from 50 mm to 300 mm in diameter. a straightline, over the range of pick-and-place motion. This paper presents the design and analysis of a robotic end-effector that is capable of grasping objects of varying sizes and the center point of the end-effector remains as close as possible to the same location, i.e. The straight-line or linear path motion also exhibits great potential for reducing manufacturing cycle time. Gene Liao Wayne State University ABSTRACT In robot applications, straight-line pick-and-place motions are used for transferring workpieces into and out of an assembly or machine and are most advantageous in such applications because of the accuracy of positioning the workpieces at the beginning and end of travel. We are confident that you will have the same enjoyable experience in using Kappa as we did in creating it.1 Design and Analysis of a Modified Scott Russell Straight-Line Mechanism for a Robot End-Effector Y. To everyone who backs us, thank you! We've put in our all and more into this project. This saves time in dealing with issues as and when they may arise. The team lead in product development has been in China for the past 8 months, working tirelessly with our partners. Certain aspects of the printer design and production timelines may however change as we begin commercial production. Hardware manufacturing is challenging and every measure is being taken to ensure the timely completion of the project. We are benefiting from our partner's relationship with the trade and this critical collaboration has resulted in saving crucial time in identifying, negotiating and selecting reliable suppliers. All our prototypes were manufactured using the same machinery required for mass production which has helped us identify issues that may not arise during prototyping.Įarly on, we have identified our manufacturing partners, who have more than a decade long experience in manufacturing of high quality 3D printers. Which is why we have always kept production in mind even during the design and development stages. Prototyping and production are two different aspects.
